It has to be tested enough. You don't want them to just slap it in a car, do a couple minor runs and say its good to go.

I realize that. That is what I'm questioning the length of. I'm not rushing them, I'm just trying to get a feel of when my car can be done.

        How's that for good faith

the length of testing is going to depend mainly on what MFactory feels is sufficient... of course your input is welcome.

Stephen, how many 10 second passes would you consider a sufficient test? are you going to need the diff back to examine afterwards?

I'm not referring to in what direction or 'way' the diff is I know this is not a clutch type diff. Rather I want to know the bias ratio, how much torque does it have the ability to transfer from the axle with low traction to the axle with high traction?

If you're still not sure what I want to know, here is a whitepaper you can reference:

The surfaces over which the Invex gearing distributes forces are designed with different coefficients of friction and the Invex gearing is designed to distribute different loads between the surfaces. Collectively, the surfaces and the gearing are designed to distribute wear evenly over the surfaces and to control the overall amount of friction within the differential needed to achieve a desired bias ratio.
And yes, I know that is a Torsen brand LSD that uses invex gearing to obtain torque transfer, and yours is a quiaffe style that uses planetary helical gears, but the both function as torque sensing/biasing differentials, as such yours has a bias ratio, and I'm curious what that ratio is.

quaife states that their diffs do not have a bias ratio because the ratio is constantly variable... i'd imagine these may be the same.

Well crap, now I've got to spend another two hours reading and figuring out how a quiaffe style diff works. Got a link to get me started?

well on their website it says:

Q: What is the torque bias ratios of the Quaife ATB Helical LSD Differential?

A: The Quaife ATB Helical LSD Differential does not have a bias ratio; this is not the principal by which it operates. The Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential constantly adjusts the torque across the axle to achieve a balanced drive to both wheels.

A BIG hello to everybody on this forum , this is my first post
I just purchased a G-Series Quaife a while back but haven't installed it into my box yet as I'm having difficulty working out how to make some driveshafts up to fit the 28 spline diff (from the 26 spline BF/Capri shafts).
I know it maybe a long shot MFactory but will the splined side gears inside the diff you are making be interchangable with a Quaife diff? as I really need to convert my Quaife to 26 spline.

                            Comment

i'd have to guess that they will not fit... these diffs are not quaife clones, they are MFactory's own design.

you'd probably be better off selling the quaife and buying the mfactory diff

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.
