The testing will be gradual since I have to tune the new injectors on the dyno. So it'll be low boost for starters. Maybe this will help with my spinning the tires on the rollers issue as well.

            mini update:

Still waiting for my press and the speedometer gears to come in (they should be here any day now). As soon as they are here I will be test fitting the diffs as promised, and I'll get the 28 spline one out to Dan.

There is a minor issue with using the stock Honda ring gear bolts, MFactory is working on some custom bolts right now. The diameter of the Honda bolts is too small, therefore they will not center the ring gear properly. Their custom bolts will have a shoulder sized to match the holes in the ring gear (odd size, ~11.30mm). The Honda bolts will work fine for my test fitting, but the custom bolts will be needed before Dan can test the diff.

What about the ARP bolt kit, do they have the proper diameter?

the arp bolts are damn expensive and use a stud/nut setup. we wanted to get away from that, so the MFactory diffs have a threaded flange like most diffs (honda, toyota, ford, etc etc etc).

so to answer your question... yes they are the right size, but no they will not work

Ah, I see. Well I trust that MFactory will find a suitable solution

In any case I do know I'll be using some super duper green locktite on my diff bolts

loctite red should be more than enough, you're gonna want to be able to get the bolts out in case you ever need to transfer the diff to a new transmission...

ring gears and pinion shafts should always be kept together as pairs unless both parts are brand new. they take a set to each other as they break in. it's like swapping used pistons/rings from one used motor to another...

sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, i really need to buy a new camera.

my press is finally supposed to be here tomorrow according to fedex tracking. in case anyone was wondering, harbor freight ships from CA... meaning it takes for-farking-ever for stuff to get to the east coast
