I understand ppl are getting irritated but be patient. No one is trying to fk anyone. This is a new process that needs to go through the motions in order to guarantee customer satisfaction. Do you want a LSD without any testing being done? Fine ship 1 but don't go crying if the LSD fails because you weren't patient......enough. Remember this is not a civic cookie cutter car.

Let's clear some things up before misunderstandings take place.
Clearly I am the cog in the wheel that is currently engaged in this process. To point the finger at me for the cumulative delays is absurd at best.
I've learned early enough in life not to sweat the things I can't control. Two of them are in play now - public opinion, and the weather. Apparently being level headed is now akin to being indifferent. Again, absurdity abounds.
Anyone who expects a performance prototype part to be made up without delay and fit right and run right the first time is a fool.

I'm a one man operation and I'm doing my best to move forward. I have perhaps the most to gain if this LSD works right as I'm a few tenths from running 9s. Hell I even bought a truck & trailer to have my own transportation setup (no more rentals). I could have saved a few hundred by waiting for a better deal on a trailer, but I wanted to be ready by tomorrow so I paid up. Do not insinuate something you're not ready to back up.
I give the best estimates available to me when I make them. If some of the information happens to be erroneous, I correct it later. If that's just a list of excuses to you, I don't sympathize.
Finally, I do have a life outside of cars. Someone posted (rightfully so), that there ought to have been more than one tester and I agree.
And as far as drag strips, Infineon is on the same weather pattern, and anything else that's worth driving to is quite a ways out and I'm not taking a dry weather car on an open trailer in the elements.'90 Mazda 323 - V6 KLDE, supercharged, right-hand drive, build log

Perhaps you misunderstand that I do want this LSD, which is the reason I'm wondering why this is taking so long. Cool, you have a life outside of cars, however, upon essentially taking the "responsibility" of one of the testers (in this case the only tester) you should uphold your "responsibility". Sorry if I seem in any way impatient, but I'd rather not sit back and have a year or more go by. There are little updates to the topic.
Still have yet to explain why you need dyno time now but previously on the 3rd you said that you were going to be testing it the 14th and the 11th rolls around and the dyno issues come up. Personally, call me crazy or whatever, but I just figured there could have been the slightest possibility that you would have already been scheduled for EVERYTHING that you have gotten done. The times between the different steps that "has to be taken" seems to be stretched out more than I perceive it needing to be.
I'm not in here to be an asshole, I'm not in here to create issues with others. I am, however, here to support and portray my views on how I believe this should have been handled and setup. Yes. I do think if I was the tester, I would have scheduled everything out in stages. No, I do not have a complete setup or something that could test it to the full extent that your setup can. HOWEVER, You had months prior to receiving the unit to at least schedule the install. Say you had the LSD for a week, then it was installed which took a week, there would have been 2 weeks saved. Instead you had the LSD a full month prior to receiving the transmission back. The shop had it for what? A week? So there is 3-3.5 weeks "wasted". 8 days later there is an update that the transmission has been installed, in essence you had the LSD for 5.5 weeks until it was installed in the car.
I'm just laying out the time frames. Everything can already be seen by just reading the prior posts in the last few pages. Guess I'm one of the few of the 42 .
Sorry?

Yea, I paid money for this as well and I don't want it to break either. I just expect it to be tested in a timely manner which it seems that will start very soon. Possibly I should have ranted a month ago? Oh wait, myself and ZX2guy did as well as a few others. Keep the lil side notes towards other members away and keep the attention focused towards the tester(s) and MFactory.Last edited by yellow2000S/R; 03-21-2009, 08:28 AM.

i think your missing the fact dan is not an employee of mfactory, and isnt getting paid to do this either. he's in exactly like everyone else. so its gonna be on his timing. and if i was him, i wouldnt be bringing the car out in ****ty weather either.
your complaining like a 12yo. seriousely, people do have other lives, and dont live to make people like you happy. if you wanted it done asap, you should have asked to do the test install. then you would be the one having to listen to people bitching and moaning.~PaTricK~

He needs dyno time to tune his new setup aswell as check for issues with everything prior to launching down the track and putting his own life at risk.
there is always always always delays with building new parts. e-mail any major performance company and ask them how long it takes start to finish to make a new part and test it. then consider these people pay someone to test it and their retail prices reflect this."Discontent is the first necessity of progress."

my god, you all need to calm down. as long as the weather is dry next weekend its getting tested. wtf else do you want from Dan? no one else with a truely fast car stepped up to the plate and offered to do testing. not a single ONE. there were a few people building fast cars that wanted to test.... but those cars still arent even close to running yet. imagine how long this project would take if Dan wasn't willing to help (or how insufficient the testing would be). sorry, a 200whp gtx is not sufficient. i dont even consider my own vehicle a sufficient test platform. my stock open diff held up to mid 12's for dozens of passes and nearly 10k miles of abuse....
i understand that there was a botched lsd group buy for the zx2 before... but that doesnt give anyone the right to flip out because its taking a week or a month or however much longer than YOU feel it should take. there are REAL lsd's being made, your money isnt being stolen by some guy in RI... so calm down.
ANY date estimates that i gave were just that... ESTIMATES. since the very beginning of this i maintained that there were NO SET DATES FOR COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT. delays happen!
just to throw this out there, however unlikely it may be:
if the diff happens to fail during testing - it then goes back to Mfactory. they need to examine it, re-engineer, build a new prototype, more testing... likely several more MONTHS of waiting. its a brand new product guys... i'm pretty sure ive been making this clear throughout this entire thread.Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft.
