Reimbursement is only for US customers. We cannot reimburse those who reside outside the US.

Why is that? because the majority of this group buy is US residents? If the argument for this reimbursement is that the group buy price was incl all, then i cannot see why it is only US customers only. IMO when then item was sent from a non-US country to the customers, we all should have the same rights.

Explanation wanted...

Still very happy about the product, just dont like the idea of being treated differently

You are not being treated differently

The agreement with the group buy was that all shipments were going to be shipped out from our US Office. Because of this, US customers would not have had to pay any import duty.

However, because the last minute decision was made to ship out directly from our HK Office, some of the US customers have now been charged import duty, when they were not supposed to in the first place.

For those living outside the US (which includes Canada), it would have been no different as you would still need to pay import duty, regardless of whether the LSD was shipped from our US Office or from our HK Office.

Import Duty in the US is 2.5% of the product value, and that is it (plus whatever DHL admin fee).

For the EU, you have the import duty which is 5% of the "product value + shipping value", then 15% VAT of this new combined total (product value + shipping value + import duty).

Yup, the EU gets hit bad

for those of you who havent paid yet, if you call 1-800-722-0081, they can take a credit card over the phone. the reason why you cant pay it online is because the billing is only set up for a one time thing so there isnt an account number you can put in on the registration page.

Sorry for off-topic question, but is there anything like a Type 3/C torsen diff in the works? That would the AWD center diff. (BTW mazda unit would be a twin-pinion, ring gear driven type)

Of course, making one to fit the G5MX-R would be somewhat of an engineering challenge, most likely it would mean also the deletion of the AWD diff locking for FWD operation and stuff. I hazard a guess 323 GTX owners who've planned on keeping the original gearbox might be interested in the idea.
