Not sure about X beams though as far as i can see it would be superior strength over either other design but again at an increase in weight, also seems like it could be more hydrodynamic with no valleys for oil to get caught in, will see what i can find.Last edited by Born_Disturbed; 05-03-2010, 03:12 PM.sigpic

IMO I-beam's are the way to go... OEM's generally do things for a reason. My stock GTR rods are I-beams and they are pretty freakin solid.Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI

As these would be going into a stroker FE3, I am less concerned about the weight and more concerned about their ability to hold a substantial increase in torque over stock. I would not take the stroker past 7k Rpm. but may boost it to 25psi +
I doubt id ever pass 600hp (probably 500 is more the limit of the head) , if the I beams can do that, I see no problem.Last edited by chief tool; 05-04-2010, 02:53 AM.

every dimension short of the rod bearing tang dimension was re-submitted.
I have a set of KIA rods. but can't recall if there were any bearing differences with the rods.

i am possibly interested, but prolly not going to boost my FE3 until it runs good n/a for 6months - year, and prolly another year on boost before I build the FE3.Rob's machina de destruccionOriginally posted by ragnarock01"America never would have gone to the moon without an LSD.
