GI: Tubular LCA's

Bumping this thread since I am installing these today finally.

Torque spec for the front bolt is: 69-93 ft lbs
Rear bushing pin nut is: 93-117ft lbs

I plan on torquing the front to the minimum of 69 ft lbs, so let me know Jim if you think that is good or it should be less.

Factory---or even less---be careful not to overtighten any of the bolts---the misalignment spacers will crush--the movement on the rodend is so much smoother than the factory bushing I doubt it could come loose---but a dab of blue loctite wouldn't hurt.

Hey James---just got back into town---did a fun track day yesterday at Willow Springs. The white escort came out and I got a chance to get back in it---lot's of fun/very well balanced car. I wish I had some video I went through a pack of cars like they were standing still---passed an NSX/twin turbo 996/C4/some SRT 8 Chryslers and got around a Nissan GTR (a little tougher). The car ran all day without issues---can't wait to finish mine, it should be quite a bit quicker.

I'd bet 54ftlbs will be fine---the misalignments are pretty thin, and we didn't want to crush them. After you installed them, did the arm cycle freely?

That would have been fun, and some video of it passing all those cars and the looks on the other drivers faces of them getting passed from an escort would have been priceless.

I stopped at that number just because as I was trying to get to the minimum spec, it was just from the way it felt while pulling the torque wrench, I decided to stop. And yes they cycled freely, felt no different in fact from before I torqued to after I did it.

I built a couple more sets of these---one for roadrace and the other for an AWD Protege rallycar---I'm thinking about continuing to make them/adding them to my site and selling them online. It's such a small market, but I wonder if I'd move anymore??

Yes sir---I store/prep it for the owner---my car is also here as well and it's quite a bit more developed---come by anytime, just call first to make sure we're in town.

I'd be interested in a set in the future. I can't afford them at the moment but Im interested. and I'm also pretty interested in the rear subframe as well.
