Got you marked down. If you can provide some way for a measurement on one of the 2 brake booster studs it can be done. A measurement from say like one of the inner strut tower studs.

Currently crazycanadian has got KL in a BG measurements for me and is going to measure his friends MX3 with a curve neck ZE as well.


I need to know the height difference between the Millenia and other KL manifolds, and follow my post on measuring to give me hood clearance for your car. I would measure mine but I am very busy the rest of this week.

That's fine, I can measure the milli manifold, and the SEFI if you still need both. It won't be today. Thursday at the latest though.

Just to clarify, you still need 2nd gen escort hood curve clearance, as well as the manifold height right?

On the milli manifold, if the actual height is taller or is it only one particular spot on top of it that is the problem.

SEFI -yes just to make sure unless Brody gets it tonight.
2nd gen hood curve-yes again unless Brody gets it first.
Crazycanadian measured for the KLG4 in his 323, so I will assume all other BG cars should be the same in that aspect.

So, my fluid resevoir is higher than I thought, and the MC brace bracket will have to be a no go. Sorry to post all these pics, but let me know if you think it'll be an issue, or what specifically I should measure.

This one is taken with the ruler sitting on top of the rear strut studs, it shows the straight across will hit the resevoir cap.


This one is touching the resevoir and the strut tower butted against the cutout rim. There is about a mm between the ruler and the intake manifold.

This is how the brace is intended to be used. Jim is just welding a tab and the end user will finish the brace which will bolt to the brake booster stud.

I cant tell from your pictures if there is a clear shot to the booster like that. My intention for you to measure from the strut tower stud was just so Jim could measure and weld the tab in the appropriate place.

Yeah, no clear shot. My post was expressing concern that the bar itself might not clear my larger resevoir. it's been about 6 or 7 years since I owned a LHD BG, so I can't remember how close the regular one is.

That should still work, in the meantime I will try to find an alternate person to measure the MX3 hood just in case. I was thinking, dont worry about measuring the intake manifold height on the RS. It will be made to clear a KL anyway and I am sure the 4 cyl intake doesnt sit higher then the KL one.

I got it now. From looking at the pics you should be fine with the way the bar is built. It rises faster then the GTX bar does, and the rear bar is off the front of the rear studs and immediately starts curving in.
