You can get them cheap enough, there's no resale value.

So either leave it stock and drive it into the ground, losing nothing, OR mod it up the ying yang, enjoy having a fun and not-cliche car, and hang on to it for a while.

also if you do a good enough engine build you can find another body to put the engine into

that is whenever the car rusts out or gets in a wreck... put money into the engine and keep replacing the body...lol

if you have been to the corksport bbq you may not have met him but you have probably seen him and at least his car... I know him because he works at the baxters auto parts on mill plain (sp?) I dont personally shop there (hell i live in portland) but my buddy who lived in vancouver worked there for a while and i met this moron.

this is a guy that has a wife and at least one kid, lives in an apartment and pays for everything on an auto parts store salary (his wife works too)... When i first turboed my escort lxe he came out and looked at it and had nothing good to say about it constantly talking about how "he is going to do it". I had the gtx smic and he was like "where is the intercooler" when i pointed it out he said "oh im going to run an front mount intercooler... they just look better" its like dude go turbo then tell me how to do my setup.

when i tried to sell my escort as a whole before i went to alaska he called me (not knowing i knew who it was) and he was telling me how he wanted to see my setup, he wasnt totally interested and he was talking about his 500 hp buildup... little did he know i knew who it was and i knew his pocket book can hardly afford one of those crappy turbo sounding exhaust tips.

he is the definition of a ricer... someone who talkes like he knows everything but he hasnt done anything and knows very little... shoot im like 5-7 years younger than him and turboed my car and he thinks my setup is boring because im using a smic so i could bolt it up plug and play the weekend i installed it...

I will admit, it was a VERY clean car he kept it up well and it was always nearly clean enough to eat off the motor... but that didnt make up for his stupidity.
