It is.. looks to be in excellent shape and only 39k on the car.. I'd offer him 5k for it probably. I'm also insane when it comes to these cars.

    1988 White GTX - #1 parts
1988 Black GTX - #2 reliably broken touge monstar (294,000 miles no rebuilds) - dead
1988 Blue GTX - #3 in progress (view here)
1988 Blue GTX - #4 BPT swapped weekend warrior.
    1988 White GTX - #5 Rally car

wow, yea it is expensive, but when are you ever going to find a bf gtx like that? Never. I'm not saying it's worth it necessarily, but i'm guessing there's only 5 or 10 tops in North America in that kind of condition.

          I'm not paying 8k for a GTX unless it's a works car.

for us canucks we can buy a road legal RHD 323 GTRs for ~$5000 from importers so its really not worth it, not even by a long shot.

dont think you yanks can put 91+ gtx / gtr on the road legally though so maybe this isnt a terrible deal if he took 5 or 5.5 gs for it when you consider you are never gonna get a chance to ever buy a like new turbo 4wd mazda hatch back again in your lifetime.

Wow. 39k miles. He should sit on it a few more years and sic Wayne Carini on it, put it up on one o' them fancyass auctions...
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.
