OK, I really need to get rid of it this time. I really wanted to keep it and fix it up, but I owe $1400 to the county, and I want to pay that off in 6 months. I can't get rid of my volvo because I still owe more than I'd get for it. 323 must go. Here's the details.

These are recent pics from last month:
'90 323 ~125k
- Red, paint is ****. Really bad paint. It's oogly. Some small dents.
- 5-spd tranny shifts well, no notchyness or grinds.
- Clutch good. Grabs hard, no slips.
- Engine, runs smooth, leaks oil. Engine is a mess but runs great. Also smokes a little (white smoke, doesn't smell like coolant, though... Looks like a car on a cold day).
Problems/needs:
- Alternator may need rebuilt. Getting horrid screeching sound when there is a high-drain on the system (lights, wipers, heater fan blowing, etc.). Perhaps the alt-bearing? I got a rebuilt alternator from somewhere and it literally has less than 5k miles on it. No receipt so I can't take it back.
- Has a brand new miata battery on it that I got for free. Doesn't fit in the tray right so I just tightened the mofo down with the tiedown thingies. It's not going anywhere.
- Brakes need done (rotors/pads... calipers work but they're damn old... Could probably use a rear shoe kit).
- I think a wheels bearing is shot, though I'm not positive. One of the front wheels sounds like it really doesn't feel like moving (I believe it's driver side), it almost sounds like driving on broken glass or something.
- Axle clicks a little bit, not real bad. It's been so long since I've driven it, I can't even remember.
- Other minor **** like steering wheel peice is missing bolts (doesn't fly off), horn disconnected. No radio.
Goodies:
- ZX2 struts, Eibach pro springs. These are basically brand new, they literally have about 5k on them, if that.
- MX3 (GS, I think) seats in good shape.
- Protege LX cluster reading 15x,xxx miles. (trip odometer push thinger broken off, I think)
- generic FSTB
- cheapo hella driving lights, OEM EGT fog light switch.
- Exhaust has been completely replaced (aside from the muffler) in the last 1k miles.
Bottom line:
While the car runs great, I certainly wouldn't try to drive it anywhere with the brakes and possible wheel bearing. The purchaser would be responsible for hauling it away somehow (easiest thing would probably be one of those uhaul car trailer things).
For basically $200 in parts you can have a completely competent daily beater. If you're planning on doing an engine swap then you don't care about half the **** anyway. Everyone always bitches about a sweet deal when they don't have cash or on the other side of the country, this is your chance. I'm located in Williamsport, PA (17701).
I want $400. For a great running car with some goodies (the struts and springs alone were $400+ and they're basically new), I think it's worth $400 even though it needs some work.
*bonus* If I get $400 I'll throw in my Pioneer CD/MP3 player. I forget the model number (deh-mp6400?), it was around $230 2 years ago, so it's pretty decent. Not the premier model, though.
