    FS: 1995 MX-3 RS Turbo

    I decided that it may be time to sell my MX-3, so I am putting this up to see if there was any interest.

    I had this car since August of 2000 and it went away in August 2004 and became my project car. When I bought it, the car was a 1995 RS with the 1.6l dohc engine and it was an automatic. Over the next 6 years, the car went through a total transformation and now has an identity problem. I swapped out the 1.6l and dropped in a freshly built 1.8l dohc engine (Built by R&D Performance in Truro) with a 5 speed tranny conversion and a GS rear disc conversion all being done at the same time. Along with the headaches of combining those 3 challenges, I also had to convert the engine wiring harness from obd2 back to obd1. Unlike Honda's, there is no easy way to do this besides looking at both sets of schematics and figuring out the right places for the wires to go. This alone took about a week to accomplish and then I had to wire in my Megasquirt standalone so I could control everything.

    It was a fun project and it does work good, but I didn't get a chance to take it to a professional to tune the car like it should be. The tune I have in it now is working really good, but I know there is more in it at the boost level that it is at. The car itself is in real good shape and was not winter driven since I bought it and was undercoated. Paint is in good shape for being original and still shines except for the mirrors. There are a couple dings in the panels and a couple rust spots are coming out now but they are not bad at all. If I keep the car, it will be fixed this winter and will be tuned too.

    This car will make a great car for anyone who wants to go fast and have something different from the usual. This car was built to be on a race track, 1/4 mile or circuit, but can be driven on the street. Don't underestimate it or it will hurt you. I will not sell it to a new driver who doesn't have the experience driving fast cars.......I do not want someone to die in this car !!!

    I am sure there is more that I am forgetting and I will edit the ad as I remember what they are. It is inspected until next summer, but I can get a new inspection after it is bought.







    I am looking for $9000 or best offer, or a 1992 and up RX7.

      were you in miramichi a few weeks/months ago running 12's? i heard there was an mx3 with a turbo'd KLZE up there running 12's didnt think so. So maybe its you. GLWS from a fellow nova scotian.

        Nope...I never ran it on the track yet. I am thinking of taking it to Sydney or Miramichi before I put it away just to get some numbers. I also want to take it to Danny at JD Racing to get it actually tuned. We will see.

        Thanks for the well wish for the sale though.
