    FS/T: BP powered MX-3

I've had this since January 2009 and it has been reliable ever since. It upsets me in a way to even consider selling it or trading it but it's been broken into for the second time this year and I consider it too "high profile" for apartment life at the time. I've got a lot of stories involving this car.

The car is a former ROTM winner from Jaunary 2008: http://www.wihandyman.com/forum/show...M-masterbanter

The car has a protege motor with BP 26 exhaust manifold, VJ20 turbo, and escort GT transmission.
The clutch was custom made by a local company and it has never slipped on me.
I bought the leather seats from someone in Florida, I am not sure if he was a forum member or not. The interior is swapped from a 95 but it is not perfect, but still looks pretty good.

I will absolutely post more pictures if someone is interested, I included some with the paper I just took outside (in the dark) as well as some I posted previously.

    Issues:
The speedometer doesn't work on account of the speedometer gear being electric and the cluster being mechanically driven.
The car burns oil after engine breaking.
Pops and crackles from the driver side while easing off the clutch; I changed the axle but it had no effect on the noise.
The interior isn't perfect but it is in pretty good shape.
I drove the car into a ditch last summer so I took the passenger side door and fender off of another Red MX-3; the color matches well but the remnants of a pinstripe exist. The front bumper is faded red and is obvious compared to the rest of the car. No obvious defects from the wreck, I've driven it a lot since then.
The car has a strange electrical issue where the running lights are always on when the battery's connected--the horn constantly sounds too but I disconnected it--this recently happened and I'm yet to track down the short.

I have a lightly used rebuilt head with a three angle valve job I want to include. I have a new timing belt, new set of seals and ARP head bolts to go with it.
I would like to keep my MSM wheels but that is not a must.

I would like 2000$ for the car but I'm willing to work with the price.
I would like to trade for a similar Protege, another Miata, or a truck.
    I'm located in Knoxville, TN

Thank you for taking a look.

I will be going back to Illinois to get my Miata at the End of August. I would definitely trade it. I am installing a new clutch and putting a JDM engine in with a rebuilt head. It is flat black pretty clean missing a few things but I have a lot of rare parts that I can include. If not that would you be interested in a 323 GT? Very rare good running/driving car.

For sure I'd be interested in the Miata.

A little more about the car, it has rear disk brakes from a GS + H&R springs, KYB Struts--each at least 3 years old.

Well, if you still have it when the Miata is back on the road and ready. I will send you pics and more information on the car. I have always loved your car!
