For sale is a 1991 Mazda Protege LX, 5-speed manual. The engine is Mazda BP DOHC, 1.8L, 16 Valve, normally aspirated, and has been overhauled with very few miles after the rebuild. It runs well but is not at the full potential of the engine.
Engine work:
Completely overhauled with all new seals
Injectors cleaned and flow tested by Witch Hunter
Cylinders have been bored 0.040" over stock
Head surfaced
Head has been cleaned up with a mild port and polish
Block decked
Valve seats machined for 1 mm oversize valves
1 mm oversize Superpro valves
10:1 compression ratio pistons
ARP Head Studs
Exh/Intake Cam mod
Exhaust:
4:2:1 Genie header
2-1/4" mandrel bent exhaust
Thrush welded muffler
Note that this car is loud but can be tamed with a quieter muffler
Suspension:
New KYB struts front and rear
New bushings
New ball joints
New tie rod ends
New CV joints
Front Addco large diameter sway bar
Miscellaneous:
New stage 2 clutch
New fuel pump
The body is in need of new paint. Interior isn't terrible but could use a good cleaning. The power steering, power windows, power door locks, power sun roof all still work.
