maybe someone would bite. The reason I put up the 929 is RWD mazda and those JE motors are tuff my brother's 929 S had 250k and still ran fine.

I wish that I would have seen this before today.... I had a '92 dodge shadow ES with a 2.5L and 5 speed. It was dark green had tan interior. Just scrapped it out this morning!!!! It ran ok, had the normal mopar topend rattles in the motor, was rusty, and needed rear brakes and exhaust, but it always started. I also just scrapped out a '95 chevy beretta Z26 on friday with a little body rot and a bad tranny. It ran like it just rolled off the assembly line yesterday!
I scrapped them both out because scrap was at $230 a ton. Now I wish I had waited....

I DO know of a 1980 mazda RX7 in need of some work, though. It's not mine, though. The guy wants $300 for it. (Do you have that much?) It needs a new rear main seal and a carb rebuild. If you feel like coming up here for it, I think it would be a good deal.

I'd be willing to pay that but I want something I can turn the key and drive. I dont mind nuisances like leaks or loud exhaust or what ever but things like brakes, and what not are necessary...lol

I do too, but I can't afford it.... My racing takes all the money I make. I'll tell you where it is if you give me a $75 finders fee, lol! It's white, with a black interior. A 5 speed. It's been sitting for 18 years in a garage, but is in great shape, with only a little surface rust. The guy hired his buddy to replace the clutch, and when the guy was replacing it, he saw the rear main was leaking, and decided to replace it. Unfortunatly, the guy didn't know what he was doing, and punched the old seal into the block to put the new one in. When the owner found out, he said for the guy to stop working on it and go home. It's been sitting like that since then! Tranny's off, sitting on the floor, with the brand new clutch right next to it. The engine has not been cranked over, so it will be good as long as you remove the old seals. Carb needs rebuilding because it has gummed up since they did not drain it when they stopped. But everything else is good! And it comes with spare parts! (fenders, doors, windows, spare rims, and a few other things off of a long gone parts car.)

yes, you should. if its a 5 speed you will get close to 40 mpg highway, and it may be a little underpowered but it will be perfect for tooling around till you get the BP fiasco figured out.
