Oh yeah. Everyone with an AWD/4WD trans should do the following every once in a while: Go under the car and grab the rear driveshaft right where it comes outta the back of the trans. Grab it like you wanna choke it to death; this should come naturally to anyone who's ever had to work on one of these (mad props to Mark Todd for that bit of mental imagry). As you shake that thing like a terrier killing a rat, if you feel any play, it's time to tighten the hell outta the big ol' nut you see there, and if that doesn't get rid of the play, it's time to replace the output shaft bearing. If there's no play, you're good to go, till it blows up! Simple.
