I have an extra 4wd rack, but it's rhd so you probably didn't want it anyway.

i bet if you disassembled it you could use the pinion and rack in a LHD housing

Possibly. My rack is okay though, so it's up for grabs.

            i have a gt-r 4WD steering rack spare, LHD.
it came from a good running car (fat rear damage beyond repair), if i remember correctly one of the boots has to be changed as for transport damage.

if you'd like i could make some pics, shipping would be possible.

the gt-r racks have a different gear ratio, they are more direct

Is the GTR rack power or manual?

I'm kind of wondering myself, is the BG GTX RHD rack a different ratio than the LHD BG Protege 4WD? I was going to take apart my AWD rack at one point to see if I could get a better ratio in one of my FWD cars, but I've got an MX3 rack insead, so haven't taken it apart yet.

maybe in a couple of weeks..

                      I think workshop manual says that 4wd has 2.76 and 2wd 3.0
