btw... I am swapping dashes too, my problem comes with the vin in the windshield. In my escort it wasnt a problem because the vin was riveted to a black piece so no matter what dash I went with I could reuse my old piece with the vin on it. In this though the vin is on a blue piece that will NOT go back in the car... is it that big of a deal? is there somewhere or some way i can rivet the correct tag on my black piece?
My 4wd didnt have a blue strip for the vin. It had a standard metal black vin plate. When i did my dash swap I just dirlled the rivets and replaced them with black rivits like the originals.

At first I used regular rivits and took spraypaint and sprayed it on a Q-tip and brushed the rivits and I thought the paint looked too fresh so I happened to find anodized rivits and I used 2 black ones that looked like the oem ones. I just wanted to be carefull here in California where they run your vin# more than your drivers license.

well im finally parting out a pro i bought for parts only that came with power windows only no power locks,

i went to go pull the harnesses out of the doors, and there are 2 plugs that look like they plug into a door lock thing, what is that for? do i need it? cause it looks like a bitch to get out. and i only really want power windows.
also the power window them self need to be swapped into a non power window door cause the windows are different correct?

I didn't think the windows were different, I thought it was just the regulators needed to be changed. That being said, neither of my cars (both 90's) have power windows, so I really don't know what I'm talking about.

You need the rear glass, they are indeed different. For the connector, there are some unused one even in the ones with power locks, take a pic.

What is the attraction of power windows anyway? I don't care for them myself.
