It's hard to know what condition it's in. The car wasn't running when I brought it home. It's definitely USDM, out of a 1990 awd.

Carrier Bearings/Output bearings are shot. That's my issue for the exact same issue on my Jspec GTX tranny. Im Buying a Spare and tearing it apart to put new bearings in and seals. Fall project...

(sigh) They gave us this stout engine, able to take much boost and deliver V8 torque, and then turned round and gave us this transmussion, with so many design flaws and inherent weaknesses that it can't stand up to a tired toddler pedaling a Big Wheel torque output. Why/ WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.
