wanted to thank goldstar for the info on the bulb. i had purchased a set of Osram NightBreaker H4 last year around the start of holidays (before thanksgiving). the first bulb has blown...the passenger, or right side after roughly 5 months. a little disappointing in the service life, the US Sylvania Silverstars lasted about the same time, while the German Osram Silverstars lasted close to a year. note that these are the PLUS bulbs but not the "Extra Life" version and i understand the shortened service life but for reference the competitor's product; the Philips X-treme Power lasted about 9 months.
but otherwise the NightBreakers are an excellent bulb for brightness. the blue tinted bands worked nicely to illuminate noticably whiter high beam on the road ahead. while the NightBreakers had a much whiter high beam, the X-treme Power had a brighter low, it was hard to tell which had the better high beam as the cooler color temperature of the NightBreakers would appear brighter. thanks for recommending NightBreakers.
