Hello folks, I'm researching weight reduction and found evo guys using deka batteries in replacement of standard batteries, saving up to 24.5lbs of weight. They are also around $62 shipped, which is the cheapest lightweight battery I've found.
My goal is to find a battery for the occasional test and tune night at my drag strip.
I own a heavily modded escort zx2, and weight savings is important to me. I understand my battery is a 35 series, approx. 550 CCA's.
My questions:
What is the minimum cca requirement to fire and run an average bp protege, with alt, Drl's, rad fan, and engine? I try to optimize my drag race conditions, so radio, headlights, and heater stay off.
Has anyone had experience with Deka batteries?
