cd deck amp and power amp

i was just wondering... i bought a new headunit and was curious to know if the wattage the headunit puts out gets added to the wattage my power amp in my trunk puts out? if it doesnt, is it normal to do this?

No, it does not. Usually you use the pre-amp outputs of your HU to feed the signal into your outboard amps. If your HU does not have pre-amp outs, then you might be able to feed your amp the high-level amplified signal (if your amp has high-level inputs). Otherwise, you will need to get a converter that will convert from high-level to low-level.

In any case, the watts don't add up. Hope that helps.
If you can't differentiate between brake and break, you should go back to school
