Looks great, blue! Does the fiberglass part sig flush with the rest of the console, or is there a slight lip? Looks great either way!!!

That table saw you got for your BDay kicks ass!!! I didn't know you were doing all of that to your car. I knew about relocating the AC and saw it with the blue velvet, but not about the doors and center console. The last picture has a dog in it. What are you trying to say? That the dog ate your work? :p: Can't wait to see what it will look like in the end.

i'm going to make sure everything fits, then put a final layer of fiberglass then bondo, so everything fits together, and there won't be any lip, i hope

Good fiberglass work makes my pants happy!

I was thinking about doing something similar with an LCD panel down there angled up a little bit.

But I'm not really too much into the 'bling' right now, that will come later

here are some more pics of the center console:

time to make the top curve, so it's flush with the dash:

secure the fabric. the fabric i'm using is from a blanket i stole from delta on a flight to MN

                    got out my fiberglassing stuff:

                    put resin on the fabric:

after it was hardened, i cut the excess fabric off:

now it's time to cover it all with a mixture of bondo and resin. recepie is at the bottom of this post:

all covered in the mix, and hardening:

the resin bondo mix works well, cause it's thicker than resin, so it's easier to paint on, and it's thinner than bondo and has longer working time. and it sands better than resin, but it is much stronger than bondo.

                    here's the mix:
                    1/2 cup bondo
                    1/2 cup resin
                    1/4 teaspoon resin hardener

i use a 1 cup plastic measuring cup that i stole from my mom, so when it dries, all i have to do is squeeze the cup, and the hardened mix breaks apart. use a liquid measuring cup, not a dry measuring cup. look at the pic, if you are uncertain.

scoop half a cup of bondo in the cup with a plastic spoon. then once it's close enough to half a cup, pour in resin to the 1 cup mark. stir thoroughly to make sure it's mixed well. then add the 1/4 teaspoon of hardener, and mix thoroughly again. then brush it on. working time is about 10 minutes, i think
