I think I'll go with one of the ones Summit sells. They are only about $170.

Make love to it. lol j/k

Im thinking about sending it off to have the block cleaned/dipped and all the bearing clearances checked as well as getting the bottom end balanced etc...I also want to get the rods shotpeened. Something to that effect.

Yeah, I had planned on it. Im going with all new OEM parts as far as gaskets, belts, and water/oil pump is concerned. Oil filter will be aftermarket - Mobil1.

Marc, does the block look to have considerable wear/grime on it so that it requires all that work ... or are you just doing it as a safe measure?

Just as a safe measure kinda thing as I know nothing about the history of this motor. Im actually considering having the block bored out +1mm so I can use the Weisco forged pistons. Assuming I can muster up the $540 heh.

yea the cost of pistons suXors.....

Why did mazda build the BP with forged parts, and then not forge the pistons?

Just a word from the wise, the clutch will wear out pretty quickly on anything past 200hp with extended use and racing.
