That might be one of your issues - have you tried tuning it at all? It tunes the same way an RX7 one does .... but has different dimensions so that factors in as well with respect to air volume, velocity ... and signal it sends to the ECU.
The VAF itself might be insufficient for the turbo application. However, give this a try - pop the cap on the VAF and move the tuning wheel to soften the spring on the flap (so the flap moves easier) Move it a few notches and idle the car and see if that reduces your lean idle issues

ok you guys say that you dont need a resistor box so why with my gtx harness i got a resistor box??? the gtx injector are not low impedance??? that mean it need a resistor box??
good to heard your car its running lexLast edited by scortadict; 05-05-2005, 02:45 PM.2012 Kia rio

The issue of impedence depends on many aspects. First of all, what is the impedence difference between the two injectors - usually the difference is very small (in the couple of ohms range). This impedence limits the current flowing through the injectors and a couple of ohms impendence will not affect current very much.
In other words, I think that the resistor box does not raise the resistance enough to prevent the GTX injectors from working properly. I have measured the resistance of the box and it is 1.5 Ohm. That is very very little resistance. Inside the box you basically have a spaced out coil of wire inside a ceramic shell. Tonight I will measure the resistance of my GT and GTX injectors and compare the values and see where we sit with that.
There are two issues to consider here:
1. The resistor box prevents the low impedence injectors from overheating and failing in the stock NA setup
2. The resistor box increases the resistance of the high impedence injectors (GTX) and may cause the injectors to take longer to open. I am talking about fractions of a second longer because from personal experience of driving the car - it gets plenty of fuel - so they DO open.
I will investigate the matter a bit more on my car and get back to you.

yea i juts found it in the gtx manual, its a fuel pump resistor and next to it its the relay. i learn everyday Lex if you want the gtx manual, hit me on msn messenger, savoie18@hotmail.com2012 Kia rio

Aw ****! That makes so much sense scortaddict - that's why the damn resistor box is not shown in any of the wiring diagrams for the injectors!!!!! It's a DRL resistor box! Who the hell started that rumor that the Canadian EGTS have an injector resistor box?? And who made it into the rumor that the Canadian EGTS have low impedence injectors???
When I get home tonight, I am measuring the impedence of my GT and GTX injectors and putting an end to this controversy.
