    Help, quick Questions

Just wondering if all the mounts for an 96 escort lx are the same as the escort GT... I know I will need a lot of donor parts but GTs are all over the junkyards where I'm from. Reason for asking is I wasnt to attempt to put a BPT engine in my LX and was wondering if its even possible.

Mounts are not the same from LX to GT. You will need the GT mounts to fun a BP...

          Clogged injectors...

Try to find a place (usually truck diesel shops) to take the injectors clean and calibrated.

On a 1991 Turbo Targa Supra I ran into the same problem after a blown head gasket that clogged the injector badly. Tehy will place it in a bench and check cc flow.

The cheap way to do it is get a rubber fuel hose (I prefer the water hose for fridges) and fit it in with a clamp, tight. Then get an air pressure hose with some WD40 or any thin solvent that is not to flammable. Get a 12 Volt battery and let a buddy apply the voltage and you on the other side spray WD40 in the line and strap in the Air hose. Start low on PSI. Just some common sense, like the OEM fuel pressure is 35 psi to 40 or so...

So, start with 15 psi or maybe less, just be concervative about it. Do the same deal again and again until you start hearing the ticking noise. Also if possible, apply some carburator cleaner and let it seat for one day to the other to destroy any dirt chunks etc.

Just play it safe... Good luck
