My V6 KL Swap...

    AIght well i got soem progress today. After loosing my patience with this car, and finally after 4-6 months im ready to go back and finish this. I neede to take a break form the car and now ive got alot of motivation to keep going. Had a few offers to buy it but dont think its gonna go thu.
    SOo today I:
    Installed my new GS harness
    Repaired The Tie Rod End

    Things left to do:
    Get steering wheel
    Get mx3 rear tie bar
    Re install radiator
    Re install Trunk battery
    Fix starter wire

    Took soem pictures for people who wanted to see the crossmember, firewall, undercarriage, engein bay space and other stuff..

    Blue Starter wire that melted only thign keeping it form starting now, need to go to the pullapart and find a replacement one.



    A big heap of wires, and ****...its not as bad as it looks...

    Firewall Space

    Crossmember udner the tranny

    Rear Crossmember bolt location/linkage


    UNder from rear exh manifold firewall space (where the harness got burned up last time)

    Front Exh manifold/y-pipe, that )2 sensor is definately gonna need to be relocated..

    PAssenger side mount (mx3 GS)

    Old tie rod end vs new tie rod end....

        yay progress is good! i just missed out on a free probe GT bastards didn't call me like they said they would, i told them i'd tow it away and they'd be done with it. but noooo they spent 50$ and got it towed away...bastards...

        but good job man! hope she's on the road soon! is your powersteering going to be working when you're done? and if i have the p/s belt hooked up you can delete all the lines and stuff right? just have to have the pump hooked up for the water pump?

          there is no way to delete the power steering, belt, they both need to be pumping luid, wihtou fluid the p/s pmp will seize up eventually

            ooooh yea, hah, wow, i dont think i was thinking when i posted that because i know my friends mx-3, he doesnt have that special bolt tightened properly...its the bolt with a hole thru the middle for fluid transfer.

              Replaced the starter wire, got it all ready. Took a couple of days but ig ot it started yesterday afternoon before work. iw anteed to drive it around the neighborhood but............ i wold my mx3 steering wheel....lol so i just went back forward in the garage. it felt great to move in the pro again evem if it was for 1 foot..lol but another trip to the j/y for accesories i parted out.

                        i tried too but noone bought it, i wanted to pull the swap and get anew body. But it jsut felt like a waste might as well keep what i got and take my time and have fun with it without a rush on it.

                        I think either i got a a vaccum leak, on the intake manifold somewhere or i got a fouled plug. the timing should be alright, that will be mylast thing to check. But im gonna do some work on it tihs weekend pull the IM off and check the vaccum hoses etc. I still have 3 connections on the harness that arent plugged in and neither of the 02 sensors are plugged in either.

                          btw, i was in my friends probe yesterday and we were doing seafoam flushes on our cars, so after the reving we went for a rip...man that think hauls! i could only imagine what a ZE would feel like...especially in a protege!

                            Ok i believe my MAF took a ****. soo ive got to find a new MAF/ECU, whenver that happens.. but still working on it.

                              sorry to hear about that dude, i ****ing hate problems like that. like you're in the predicament where its 'did i screw wiring up?' or 'did something just stop working?'. so you're trying to decided what it could be without getting broke.

                                btw, i'm about 1/3 payed up on my mx3 parts car

                                dun dun dunnnn.

                                after that, its clutch, ZE, gaskets, lower mount inserts, and maintance stuff and a good wash
