there is no way you used the kia intermediate shaft, it wont bolt to the motor. if it did, then people would be using the v6 one with 4 cylinders and LSD's

Did you mean people would not be using the v6 one?

i found some info on fordfestiva forums hope that helps. let me know if am going in the wrong direction

The G-series transmission can be found in bigger B-engine mazda powered cars, like the 88-89 Mazda 323GT, 1992-1993 Ford Escort LX-E, 1991-1996 Ford Escort GT, 1991-1996 Mercury Tracer LTS, 1990-1994 Mazda Protégé LX, and the Mercury Capri XR2. The G-series transmission can also be found attached to K-series mazda cars, but these transmissions have different bell housing because they are attached to a V6. The 323 GT and the Capri XR2 use a cable clutch, while the rest of these cars use a hydraulic clutch. The G-series has a 22-tooth input shaft spline count, and accepts 26 tooth splined axles. The G-series transmission use a jackshaft/intermediate shaft

that statement is partially wrong... since the V6 trannies have a 28 spline diff.

Some of the early Jap spec 1.8 V6 MX3/AZ3 gearboxes ARE 26 spline, but the rest of the V6 gearboxes ive taken to bits are all 28 spline

might be Mike. I think people should measure their axles!
