It would be nice to see such swap, anyway.

I agree. The SVT focus motor would make an awesome swap. They even come with a big aftermarket following, including superchargers. I LOVE superchargers, lol! WAY more power than a BPT.

To bad you went KL instead.

more power? sure, but that doesn't make them fast.

my old turbo EGT curb-stomped a supercharged SVT from a 3rd gear roll, it wasn't even close...

The Focus Zetec has a different block than the ZX2. So the SVT Zetec wouldn't have been quite a "bolt in" affair.

What's funny is how cheap you can grab a zx2. Pay 500 for a protege and 1000-1500 for a zx2 and swap the suspension, brakes and engine swap

for the work, id rather try to swap a MZR in. there have been 650whp n/a builds of them. cosworth is doing some even crazier builds with them.

I agree, an MZR/Duratec would be cool, and especially with all the cosworth bolt-ons.

i got a question. i got a 2.0L zetec from an 99 escort zx2 and i was thinking of puting it onto my 90 protege lx. is the block the same as the 1.8L protege engine? and if i swap can i use the mazda wiring or i would need to get the zx2 wiring?

Block is not the same and won't bolt to the trnas without an adapter plate. If you find an adapter plate, lemme know...
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.
