The struts were brand new as of... february... i had to get them to pass inspection, along with a front bumper because of umm... "Sharp corners" And.. that's the reason my front windows aren't tinted anymore... damned NJ DMV... :pComment

So to swap my dohc engine into my sohc car whats needed? My car is an auto, and the escort I have (bad tranny) is a manual.
Trying to find out which would be easier, finding a used 5speed, or swapping the dohc into the protege.-Donnie-Comment

well if you swap the DOHC motor into the protege with the stock auto transmission... you;ll soon be looking for a replacement transmission

i would say just hunt down a new trans for the escort. you could even swap the DOHC to the protege, with your new 5 speed trans, if you prefer the pro to the escort

SOHC is 108 hp i believe and DOHC is 125/127 depending if you look at the Protege LX or EGT specs! Essentially when the power drops of the SOHC at higher revs the VICS and extra valves help it along for a bit longer!
