    BPT Engine swap With Troubles...

Hey guys Jus wondering If anyone Might be able to help me with some issues I'm having with my car...
Its a 1990 Ford Festiva that I have put a BPT in to..
I am looking here for help because I figured If anyone has had a problem with thier BPT's doing the same thing they might be able to let me know what it was and how they fixed it so here it goes!

I've been working on this for awhile now and finally got the car to the point where I'm ready to hear it roar..
    but...
    its not...

Here's a breif explenation of what is going on..
-I turn the Key to start, engine turns over and ever now and then it hick ups,
    - Then if i continue to hold it turning it over it will catch and rev to 2500-3000 RPM
    - Then.. dies...
It sounds like it wants to stay running but instead it cuts out...

Here's a bit about what parts I am using and what work I have done to try and sort this out
-Engine is a BPT from Jpan land
-Have Bpt ECU plugged in (ECU code BP26)
-Added 4th wire from Disty, to pin 2G at ecu
-TPS is a 4 wire, ran 5 volt constant from air flow meter to light green/red wire, yellow/black wire to red wire on tps plug, yellow wire to light green/white wire?)i think its white...
    - moved yellow wire (for tps) from pin 2L to pin 2M at ecu plug

I can't remember what else I did that might effect I think that it
If anyone can shed some light on what could be the problem I would really appreciate it!
    Thanks in advance,

Not sure why you ran things this way but heres my take on it. Where is the regular tps plug from the bp harness? When you do the 4 wire conversion you just splice color for color and the extra wire goes to the air flow meter or inside of the car either work as long as you splice it with the Lg/r wire. Also when you splice the wire it has to be ran inline with the lg/r wire.
Added 4th wire from Disty, to pin 2G at ecu

When doing the 4 wire tps your not supposed to mess with 2g on the harness.

I'm not going from a BP to a BPT.... the car origonally had a 1.3 liter B3 in it...

The 2g was cause the 1.3 had only 3 wires at the disty. also the festiva 1.3 liter harness uses different colours....
      .....................

I Thought it might have been the knock sensor connected properly but still not go....

      Please anyone???

              did you check your injector??
when i installed the bpt in the escort, the car started for 2 sec then die, checked the injector and 3 of 4 was stuck close, i had to connect them to a 12v battery for couple of sec on/off until i can heard the click of the injector.

pretty sure its not the injector because it revs nicely to about 2500 then dies.. I dont see how it could rev nicely to 2500 missing on an injector..

if it idle good and rev fine until 2500rpm i would say its missing fuel or misfire.

when you rev it to 2500rpm and the engine want to die, if you let of the throttle does the engine idle back??

It doesnt idle, when I turn the key it catches and then dies after hitting 2500,
pressing the gas pedal while starting doesnt change the out come..

I agree that it seems like missing fuel or spark but I'm wondering if its another sensor causing it to cut out...

is your air meter oriented correctly?

Is your air meter the correct one for the ECU?

Do you not have the wiring harness that came with the engine, or has it been cut? Did you ever check that knock sensor I mentioned on FF.com to see if that could be a issue?
