OK! I'm Swapping out my Pony 1.9 for the BP. My question is ,is the 1.9 lx the same as the 1.9 pony? The reason I'm asking is that I drove my friends lx the other day and it definately has more balls than my pony bone stock.

Also, if I do this swap, would I beable to use the 1.9's tranny or is it not compatable with the 1.8?
Now I'm going to have the whole engine but no tranny. I told you in a PM that you need to get a trans and axles. i have the front and rear trans mounts im including for you. but you need the brackets that they bolt to. as well as the parts for the engine mount on the passenger side. i think you can use your body bracket but need the different mount. i believe you can use your cross member but use these mounts.1994 Escort LX Wagon

its possible, ford did have an optional fuel saver tranny where 2-4 are taller than the normal tranny. better fuel economy but slower accelleration. probably impossible to tell which trans you have unless you have a build sheet for the car or you measure your gear ratios one way or another.Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. pony has smaller thinner wheels as well which should be helping acceleration. ive had a pony and it was awsome. WOT all day long and she never complained. sounds like yours is not running right. they should be just a tad slower than a EGT if they are running right and you dont add any weight
