    KLDE KLZE hybrid

As far as this hybrid goes what are the factors that make it better? A higher compression ratio, or lower compression ratio? And its the KLDE block with KLZE cylinder heads?

Why not just get a millenia Motor and some klze cams and be done with it. The klze has higher compression and better flowing heads and intake manifold. Get a millenia motor that has the kl31 heads and get klze cams and you have your hybrid.

KLG4 is the code on the Intake I believe. I saw one at a yard in northern PA this weekend actually.

i wouldnt waste the time on a DE block/ZE heads hybrid. even after its all put together, you will still have less power than a stock ZE because you will still have the 9.2:1 pistons in the DE.

I'm pretty sure thats the purpose so when you boost it its not running the high klze compression.

its not really an issue even with the higher compression. there's tons of people with boosted ze's on pt. it just means a half assed tune wont hack it. but with a decent tune, you have no worries.

and the best KL would def be a hybrid. no ZE ever came with the lighter KLG4 crank. and that alone is one of the best things to start a KL build on.

i'd go for a KLG4 if you can, like monoxide said there's lots of updated parts in those engines, crank, heads, intake manifold, solid lifters...ect.

Thanks for all the input, as far as the klg4 goes I've heard of major issues with it including wiring and computer issues? This is from head tech at my shop. I'd like to build a seperate motor and boost it... but who knows.

You can't have wiring issues with a motor. Maybe the 626 that comes with the klg4.

ya idk if the 98+ 626 had wiring issues, but you'd use your ODB1 harness, ecu, disti, and maf on the klg4 engine.

klg4 only came in the 98+ 626's. didnt come in any other car. ive never heard of any wiring or ecu issues on the forums. but its not like you would be using there ecu or wiring. most would be using the mx3 or probe set up. i personally wouldnt go through the work of doing a swap, and then making it a problematic ODB2 set up anyways.
