    FS-RWD? or FE3-RWD?

    hello all,
i plan on putting the FSDE or FE3 into my FD3s RX7 i have been contemplating this for some time now and i am leaning more toward the FE3 due to compatibility of RWD trans issue, and Forged internals from factory.
so the problem is what one would ultimately be a better choice to for my build.

1)I already have a worn out FS in my possession that i took out of my 93 ford probe (just needs rebuild so why not build it right) but i cant find anyone that has done a RWD swap with this engine.

2)I am starting to wonder about the FE3 due to scarcity of them in the U.S. and since there are no dohc sportages in the junkyard around here (boise, ID) so either way just the engine alone that works will cost 500 plus shipping.

i am shooting for about 400whp my plan is to build a road course car but also have it "streetable" (obviously not a Daily)

lol im in the same boat love the LS series but just gets old. i want something unique and i think this swap with either engine would do the trick.
just need some information on them, been searching and finding lots and lots of useful info on the FE3 in custom projects but not so much the FS..

absolutely nothing other than price for maintenance which i expected to have to pay for upon purchasing the car but didn't take into the effect of the economy dropping in the next year or so after i bought it...
here is a link to the back ground on the car/engnines (car domain in signature) and what not.

FE3 FTW! There are a lot of DOHC sportages around here. Just save up for the right setup and take your time. FS will probably have a host of issues since it was never meant for RWD.

so im thinking FE3 because i just found a hell of a deal complete engine (head, block, intake, exhaust...etc) with wiring harness and ecu with only 30k miles on it and all for 200.00

as for the FS ill prob just build it up and figure up some type of adapter plate and make some insane AWD monster... depending when i get a new doaner car and depending on the kind it is.

if the FE3 deal actually works out i am going to use individual throttle bodies for a better throttle response with the stock RX7 550cc injectors supposedly they fit right in with a spacer. do some massive porting, and find some descent cams that are pretty aggressive but nothing too radical for boosting, throw my 4g63t megan racing header on it with a little flange modification, just use my t3/t4 right now, and hook it all into my front mount!! ahh the excitement.

howabout something completly new? Swap in a new 5.0 mustang motor and have 412 hp out of the box! Ford racing is already selling swap kits, with engine management, mounts, hardware, motor, and transmission adapter plate!

Pricey, yes, but it would be one of a kind, be quick, and have a warranty from ford for the motor.

yes most definatly one of a kind, but however price is the main factor there. the FE is 200 with everything to at least get it running stock if i wanted it to and it is alot cheaper to mod than a brand new 5.0 but it's a very sexy engine indeed.

Go to the wrecker, yank a LT1 from an impala ss, camaro, firebird, corvette, chevy caprice, buick roadmaster, or cadilac fleetwood and install it. V8 with 260-300 hp and a 6 speed would make an inexpesive, powerful car.

the LT is weaker than the LS and less efficient, my buddy's montego blue 7 that lives a block and a half away has the LS2 with the T56 (6speed) behind it. amazing swap but i want something different and new

Going to get my FE3 tomorrow and just bought my gsxr 750 quad throttle bodies and fuel rail for 35.00 woot woot!
