ok auto to 5spd swap guys.....

So I need to know what it would take to swap it the other way around. 5spd to auto. Basically what electrical did you have to rework/repin, axles different? I think so. Ecu swap? Basically tell me what you took out to convert to a 5 spd.

In a BG you'll need to convert the entire engine harness... The 5 speed harness is going to be missing a lot of wiring for the transmission controls... You'll save your self a lot of head aches if you can get your hands on a complete harness for an auto car with the computers...

Taking out and swapping the peddles around and stuff is pretty straight forward... Same with the shifters...

yea, pedal assembly and shifter swap isn't a big deal.

Neither is the harness swap if you've done it before, and I'm pretty sure you have, haven't you Chris??

As for axles, it's the left axle that is different, apparently the jackshaft and right axle are the same MTX-ATX, but I might be wrong...lol

no there isn't. you just need the automatic harness. and the fender harness out of a donor. it's what has the tranny plugs on it. you'll need the shifter assembly, different throttle cable bracket, pedal assembly, axles, probably some other **** I'm forgetting

I think there is a separate TCU up to 92 or so. I know there is a crossover point where the tranny is controlled through the ECU rather than a separate TCU. So yes, all 4wd's have a TCU if Auto. I think you can use the newer setup even in an older car as long as all the components match...

My 91 egt had a trans computer in it. When I swapped to a 5 speed I kept the same harness and just unplugged the trans ecu. Thae auto's needed throttle position to work correctly hence the 4 wire tps on auto's.
