Today I bought a rear counterweight from an auto to adapt my spare B6T flywheel to, just gotta wait for it to be shipped

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Well i'm just going to "wing it" lol enough people have made it work so i think i can too

i've looking at different axle options and the 02' kia rio uses a 26 spline one piece axle, it measures 1/8" longer then the 323 GT axle/int. shaft, so i "should be able to use it, eliminating the need for a mounting plate for the int. shaft bracket

But anyway, the guy who making my adapter plate is building a sick ranger with a completely custom frame, thought you guys may have interest in seeing it

It obviously still need body work/paint but the body was only on for test fitting reasons, but i think it's safe to say the 13B/KL trans is in good hands

Ok so I haven't updated this in a while but haven't forgot about it, so here we go

After a few months, the guy who had my 13B/KL trans just couldn't find the time to do the adapter plate so I got them back.... So I went to plan B and asked a friend of mine and Jacks, and he said he'd do the adapter plate for me, so he's been on the hunt for a 13B CAD before having to make one from scratch and then this

Turns out I have a secret admirer (a member on ff.com that wants his project secret) that sent me a little present

3D modeling of a 13B :D my buddy Adam now has copies of the files and says they are more then he expected them to be and is gunna print a 1:1 scale of the bellhousing to compare to the 13B trans, if all checks out great there maybe progress before spring W00T W00T!!!

Your first post is wrong. Mazda made a FWD rotary in the 1970's... Mazda Luce.

Good luck with the build though, curious to see how it turns out.

Most Luce's were RWD. The only one that was ever FWD was the R130. Which looks like a Corvair pretty much. Still a Very rare car anymore. They were only made for 2 or 3 years.

Yep and it looks like they used a transaxle system for the FWD setup too, I've only been able to find one picture and it's a good 12" from the firewall...doesn't look like the normal FWD trans setup at least, or I'd imagine it'd be closer to the firewall

                          Some good pictures there.

Interesting enough that the RWD looking setup appears to still be a FWD.

So my buddy Adam has made some progress on the adapter plate CAD, it needs to be tweaked for flywheel clearance (he says he's gunna do that Thursday) but he's hoping for a paper print out within a week to see how everything lines up in real life :D
