take one off at a time and check for cracks in the insulation . scorched spots .

when does the miss occur ? at idle ? light throttle , low rpm ? high rpm ? on decell?

    am intrigued
When it started to misfire, it was right as I started the car and would stay for 15-30 seconds. Now it is all the time, no matter the RPM or throttle position.

When I pulled the plug wire off the cylinder that seems to be misfiring, it does crack as I'm pulling it out of the head.

Not yet. I did run a compression test though. All cylinders were 190 and one was a little over 200. I've been trying to find possible answers online and I'm thinking it could be a bad VRIS solenoid. I'm going to try and test that tonight and hopefully come up with some answers.

Just went out and checked the VRIS solenoids. Pretty sure they are the issue (I hope). Under any RPM the solenoid on the right (#1) didnt open and remained closed. Tomorrow when its a little brighter and hopefully warmer im going to take a closer look.

VRIS will only lack in power, nothing to do with engine management.

have to agree with both of them. Even with all the VRIS solenoids not working, your car wouldnt mis. It just means your intake track is taking a different path. Has nothing to do with management.

I'll stick to my earlier suggestions lol

              plugs
External coil conversion with your HEI
              coolant burp

Also Mazdanoob had a great suggestion with checking your ignition wire resistance, my KL changed completely when I refreshed the ignition setup.

Little update. VRIS was fine, it was dark and i wanted it to be the problem so I didnt test it properly. Once daylight was available I confirmed they were in working order. I bought some new NGK plugs and wires, they made a difference but it is still missing.

It's probably going to be ignition related since it's the KL management lol, I'd check the internal coil specs and see if they're within the tolerances.

                  primary coil spec 0.49-0.73

my readings were 0.98 and 0.99

                  secondary coil specs 20-41

my readings were 15.78 and 15.67

                  and my car still ran

Turns out it was something wrong with the injectors. I swapped in some different ones and it is back to running like a champ. Replaced the fuel filter too, just for good measure.
