The biggest issue with 4-1 cam wheels or distributor setups is the poor timing resolution; especially at low engine speeds - which is a bigger issue than no coil on plug.

MS2 Extra is the only one truly supports a crank toothed wheel for better ignition resolution

No new versions of the MS are planned for at least a couple years FYI, and the router board is NOT coming out soon (they haven't even made alpha boards yet, so beta testing is a whiiiile away).

Actually, the sequencer (which is not quite the router board, but similar) is in the prototype phase. I've seen one in person. It's kind of like a double ended Microsquirt. See here:

The stand alone router board (if it ever comes out) and the Megasquirt-III will be a bit further off. Bruce and Al wanted something they could release quickly with the Sequencer.

Matt, do you know if they've found a cheap source for female AMPseal pins yet? I've been looking around but as I recall the minimum order that I found anywhere online was for like 500 of them, and they're not cheap.

Then again, I haven't looked in the last month or so, so I dunno if that's changed.

I haven't really been looking for the pins since most of the AMPSEAL-equipped Megasquirt items come with their own harnesses ready made, but I can put it on the to-do list.

I agree that the emissions failure is likely due to a poor tune, but...

Unless you wanna drop thousands of dollars at a reallllly well equipped tuning shop you're not gonna be able to tune the car accurately enough to make a real difference with sequential injection. Trust me.

This is simply not true for large injectors. It IS true for small injectors, but you don't make big power with small injectors...

There are many reasons why it's a good idea to have sequential and all of them are low rpm/smoothness related. Not all are 100% physical things though.

LOL Matt Matt Matt, you should know better than to trust B&G estimates on releases ;-) Afterall, so far in terms of commercial products we've had 2 pcbs, 1 cpu card and a microsquirt in 7 years with a massive user base and many many people helping out.
