i honestly thaught about that soon as i seen who it was from, but on the other hand electronics are sensitive and really need to be assembled correctly. its like taking a engine to be rebuilt at a pro shop and getting work done by someone just learning, fresh outta highschool. as bad as it is for him, he can either slow down and do it right or have these flip a coin if its gonna work ecu's.... im supprised no one else opened thiers to inspect the work. thats the first thing i do when i get these high dollar amps in i deal with , i just like to see craftsman ship.... in the end electronics are , ive noticed all about the same, its either not gonna work and be doa, break fast , or last for a long time....
i don't know if i approove of this thread. as it is cutting down on another member.
Ryan, this is why I did not state the source of this part and was being very careful about mentioning anything of the sort. I meant it to show what should be avoided when putting together an MS because I know members here have had issues in regards to MS assembly quality.
No one has bashed J and the angry mob has not formed. I think the mass should know that if there is some inferior electronics floating around the board and who the source is. I think the speculations should ceast until Jacob is here and able to defend himself..

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.
I think it would have come out sooner or later. I was curious, and all I did was do a quick search on nos92mx3's past posts to see if I could find out where he purchased it from since he mentioned it was from a fellow member. I was very suprised to see it was Jacob, and that's why I had to ask. Hopefully Jacob can explain what happened, maybe he got it off someone else to fix, who knows...
I understand what you mean Ryan. I don't want to down anyone I've talked to in the past about the subject. He's been informative on a lot of questions I've asked him. On the other hand what were the stipulations on the purchase that Jacob would really take account of? Did he build this unit? Did he grab it from someone and sell it as is? There's questions that need answering really. If this is his work than wouldn't it be better to inform the ppl before they buy from him? Questions questions questions.

Lets just drop it where its at, hopefully lex can salvage this for me.
But can you imagine the amount of frustration of me trying to wire this in, and the entire time thinking it was my wiring? Not to say it wasn't but when you go over and over wiring diagrams and wires and connections and laptop settings multiple times it gets very frustrating, I hope that it was my wiring...
Jacob was very informative i even called him a few times for help and he had no problem helping me.
Maybe this wasn't something he built, possibly only modified. i did buy it from him off of ebay, he said that he could build it a few different ways and if i used the BIN he would install the big daddy map sensor as well. he seems like a nice guy with good intentions. I am in no means bashing him at all, just frustrated.
So please alex work yo magic cause all i wanted for Christmas was the ability to control timing and maybe even a 2 step
I can vouch for Lex putting together and fixing many problems with MS's... he built mine, and I like what I see. He does good work and gawd damn he's good at what he does and understands. I've learnt a lot from him about how the electronics of the car works and how the MS controls it all.

Thanks Jon, it means a lot to hear good praise from you.
Indeed this a nasty example of a PCB build. The MS system is primarily marketed as a DIY economy type of system.I think that people in general look at it and think "I can do dat".Then comes the assembly, options, testing and installation.A successful install can be intimidatiing for sure.
IMO thus far as the source of this example has not been determined this threads focus should point out that these small handbuilt system controllers require a minimum amount of expertise and if you choose to use one be sure it is done properly by yourself or by someone else more qualified.
Loss of engine power partially or completely can be a HUGE SAFETY ISSUE not to mention electrical shorts and fire.
This thread does indeed carry value but not to be looked at as a source of blame but more of a learning experience and what can i take from this to apply to my own situation.I am sure that this is what LEX is targeting here.
My issue with this is I dont care how established a member is if they do this... selling crappy things, but because he is "a member" we are supposed to not say anything about it. we have a page of forsale rules to PROTECT the other members but as long as you sell something or do something "for the community" no matter how ****ty the product you cannot say anything bad about it.
It makes me sick to think some mods on this forum would rather people be able to sell crappy **** over and over and over without people being able to step up and say "SAVE YOUR MONEY, and buy elsewhere"
This forum needs to decide if its REALLY about ALL the members!
If he was not a member and just a crappy ebay seller this crap would be torn apart SO fast but because a membership we would rather put other members at risk of wasting their money on an inferior product. I am not seeing the logic.
while i agree on protecting members i dont agree that he should be torn apart until it is confirmed he scammed a fellow member. yes he sold a sub-standard product and yes i dont see him here now defending himself or offering to support what he built/sold. because he is a member he should be given the opportunity to do so before getting attacked. so far i dont see any of the communication that occured between seller and buyer.did the buyer insist on pics of the finished product before it was shipped? what was the implied warranty and specific warranty included in the sale? was there comunication after the sale? does this guy even know that it was a ****ty product he made?
dont get me wrong i am not defending the seller here. nor attacking the buyer. i just think a member should be given the benefit of the doubt 1st.
