I've read that E85 is harsh on fuel pumps also...
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

sweet **** man, atleast i have something to start with, your pretty close to my set up aside from i have a vf8 instead, and some web cams.... but im on a stock na block atm... and as far as fuel parts, im thinking of making new bigger lines, and possibly a helper pump inline with the other one to keep pressure up. im goin to get another walbro and toss it in my glovebox just incase i ever need it, theres always ones local for like 50 bucks....

I have not had anyproblems with anything in my fuel system at this time.

I also am geting 25mpg with my lean burn tune thats combined city/highway and in boost quite a bit. Dont know yet what i can get just going down the highway.

It gets about 20mpg in town driveing only.

25mpg is what i get with mixed driving on 93 octane, so thats really not bad at all.

I just tried e85 in my bp turbo'd with just the gtx computer. It doesn't react as well to the e85 than it does to 93 pump gas. I can slam it after 4 grand with just premium gas but with e85 i have to half throttle it. I just did this to try it out but i don't really see whats the use when you don't have megasquirt.

You cannot run E85 without a megasquirt or some other way to tune it. also bigger than stock fuel injectors are needed.

on a stock computer the arf will be way to lean and the car will not want to drive.

Also it can detonate due to the afr being around 18 to 1

E85 can help you make more power on the came setup due to being able to run more boost and more timeing. Can even help at the same boost due to increase in timeing alone.

A con for e85 I did not see is its “shelf life” ethanol is an hygroscopic meaning absorb water rapidly. This gives it about a 90 day shelf live in areas were ethanol is low in demand. Or those that cannot access it routinely. Thinking you can “stock up” and store e85 not the best idea..
For those that do not have e85 available or do not want to put up with the cons of it,,,
Methanol Injection is also a great route,, Inexpensive and very manageable on a regular basis. Just a thought…

Yeah that also works. I just like e85 due to just haveing to fill up the tank tune and drive. No nozzles to clog or extra tanks to fill and keep an eye on.

There is a good demand here for e85 so shelf life does not come into play. But it could deffinitly cause an issue.

E85 is 105 octane at $1.56 a gallon. Im only at 19degrees of timeing at 16psi or boost no detonation. I think with the E85 i should be able to run quite a bit more timeing. Probubly not much more boost tho on the stock bpt bottomend.
                      105oct for 1.56? dayum thats cheap. for 92 its 3.55 and 100oct is 10.25

^ still a cunt hair cheaper then 93 for a higher octane.
quite honestly it would be a badass thing for those track days. but short of that its not nessicarily a better route

Yeah its not the 93 i compare it to.

I compare it to 100 octane is also around $10 a gal here. Because i would be running that if i was not running e85

E85 has went up some but its still just over $2 last time i filled up.

Still much cheeper than 100 and its higher octane.

Im building my new setup for E85, however i will prob make a mix of 85 pure ethanol and 15 VP109, should make for a good mix.

Heaps of guys mix fuels over here with decent results, as long as you mix even you dont have a drama, batch's are fairly consistant especially when you mix your 15% with a race fuel.

Or you could mix 80 ethanol and 20 methanol, but then you have corrosiveness issues to worry about, would have to run a plastic fuel cell
