psiiturbo i dont want to turn this into a net war. All i wanted to know is what the ecu codes were for the BP motor as I am not familier with them. Im being as nice as i can with out loosing my patience of you not being able to read carefully. I am not familier with BP codes. Maybe if your soo clever you could help instead of bashing and should read more CAREFULLY.

SO i found the code its running off the 1.6.

Are you possative its a 1.8? The 1.6 out of the mx3 looks about the same. Look on the distributor side of the head and grab thise numbers. That will tell if its a bp or b6

If the oil pan has a grid and is square looking then it is a 1.8, if the oil pan is round and bubbly then it is a 1.6.

          Should look like this one...

it is a 1.8. I checked and triple checked. I guess when or who ever did the swap left the BP motor and left the stock harness in..but from what i read..you have to change the harness and ecu no?

to get it to run 100% you would, but you could get it running on the 1.6 computer and harness. which it sounds like that's what he did.

mmmm probably? you will have to make sure that it will plug and play in the mx3. sometimes a few wires will need to be changed here and there for the plugs that connect under the dash. i wouldnt know exactly as i dont own an mx3

Well, I did the swap from 1.6 SOHC to 1.8 DOHC there were just one cable I had to add, Its been a while since the swap on the 323.

The only cable added was the one for the disty, besides that I think the other one was some solenoid but after some reading it was not really needed. My Mazda 323 was from CA so some of the wire color code was not the typical diagram legend one finds on a autoshop manual. Some common sense when soldering had to be done to make it work.

One of the reasons I am holding back on my MS migration is I want to get the complete 1.8 dohc wiring cables from any junkyard. All I am waiting is for some hands on momentum to spend a few hours under the sun to take it out, LOL.

                    Good Luck!

The 1.6 DOHC in the mx-3 is a little more involved than just adding a wire.....I had to change a few under the dash in my 95 ......when I get some time to look over my notes, I will pm you some info on it that may help you out.
