    megasquirt communication and wiring

    First of all I am trying to run ms1 version 3 on a escort that was a gtx ecu. I have all the wires hooked up except for two. The gtx pinouts are what I have been using for the wiring diagrams. I am having a problem figuring out where the distributor signals go on the megasquirt. The gtx pinout says Distributor (NE-signal) and the other says Distributor (G-signal). What are the NE-signal and G-signal? Does it go to the tach/crank position output?

    I have no idea what code it is running. Does anyone have a link for the lastest high resolution code?

    Also I have had no luck getting it to communicate with my computer. I am using a swine usb to serial adapter. It is set to 9600. Would not having the ne-signal and g-signal hooked up cause me not to be able to communicate. Do I need to flash the megasquirt in order for it to communicate? I am sure the wiring that is hooked up is right. Tested for power and ground and both are fine. Anyone got any suggestions? below are some pictures I have been using to wire it

      Go to the device manager and find out what COM port the serial adapter is on, it changes everytimg you disconnect it.

      Also where did you buy your MS? Did you build it yourself?

        I will try changing the com port settings in the device manager.

        Can anyone explain the g signal and ne signal I am not sure where to put those on the megasquirt.

        The megasquirt was purchased from the for sale section here. I bought it from 92nosmx3 and it was built by lex. I opened up the megasquirt everything looks clean.

                  This is an x-Jacob R unit. Here are my notes:

                  Repair Jacob R MSI V3 and convert from EDIS to disty
                  Added support for 2 step and flat shift - J11 to IAC2b
                  Added support for knock sensor J10 to IAC1B
                  C12 not installed

                  Map details
                  10_f hi res code installed
                  460cc high imp injectors
                  No O2 correction
                  No idle control
                  disty ignition
                  MAPDaddy 400Kpa Map sensor but all maps scaled to 250Kpa

                  The unit should have come with a CD that has the software, firmware, instructions. Also, what happened to the harness for the unit?

                  Msg me if you'd like further 1 on 1 support on getting the unit running.

                      I got this figured out the disty ne signal goes to pin 24 on the megasquirt. The disty g signal is not used.
