    no spark with ms1

    I have a gtx swaped escort with a 57 trim t3/t4 turbo and 330cc injectors. I Can't figure out why I don't have spark. I had Lex add the idle air control to it. When it came back I plugged it in and it fired right up and in the process of trying to change the air fuel ratio I loaded a new .msq. Now it seems whatever I do I cant get spark. I have even reloaded the code. I am using the stock 4-1 distributor and trying to run a single coil setup. With the gtx ecu I don't have any problems starting. Any help is appreciated.

    Iirc the bp disty is 4+ a single toothed 2nd wheel if that is correct than your wheel settings are not correct..

      its wired like its using the stock coil? i cant even get to the wheel decoder settings mines blacked out, or id tell you what mine says...

        So my wheel settings are wrong. Is that what is causing me to get no spark? This probably isn't that hard but I really don't understand how to setup the wheel settings with the bp disty. This map came from lex so I would of though it would be right.

          Alright, so the issue you have here is compatibility. The unit came flashed with code version hr_10f from me if it is an MSI. Your MSQ must be saved with the same firmware version or you will have strange settings since they change the memory locations for parameters from one firmware version to the next. For example, when choosing MSnS distributor, you should not be able to access the wheel decoder settings.

          Secondly, when you reloaded the firmware, for it to work with the msq I sent you, it must also be the hr_10f and the Megatune INI file must also be correct (for the hr_10f version). Alternatively you can install TunerStudio.

          In conclusion everything from firmware to msq to ini file (if using Megatune) must match up and this is where your problems are stemming from and this is why it fired up the first time and now it's refusing to.

          If you'd like me to send you a package with the firmware, megatune setup for that firmware, and instructions on how to get this all working on your PC without hassle, let me know. Don't give up, you're not far from getting this right and the hardware is fine.

            heres a related question... I have a MS2 that was running great. I stopped the car and before i restarted it i unplugged the tps because i remembered reading that its not used and could mess things up.. I started the car back up and it ran for 10seconds and just died... So i plugged the tps back and now it wont start no matter what i do i tried reloading the map with no luck. Any idea's.

            95 EGT with GTX swap stock ignition.

              should i even have the tps plugged in? the MS2 is seeing rpm and i do smell the fuel

                i put the stock ecu back, still no spark. changed coil, coil wire, and checked all fuses. Also checked for power at the coil plug... its there. Also tried another distributer, still nothing.

                  incase anyone else had this problem i just wanted to add that it was the ignition control mod that burnt up because i had a MS2 setting wrong, it works now
