From what I have heard from other people the B code and R code vaf max out at 17 to 18 psi on gtr ecu and this is because the vaf is open all the way or it has reached its voltage limit. What I am trying to figure out is if an A code Vaf from a turbo rx7 will allow me to run a higher boost level? Also I understand that the gtr ecu does not have a boost cut ,but it will cut fuel if the vaf is maxed out and then it will run lean. I have heard one person claim that they are making at least 350whp on gtr ecu and I am having a hard time believing that unless the A code vaf is an upgrade from the B or R code vaf.

it doesnt have fuel cut, if the afm is maxed out then basically the injectors are just going to dump fuel and hope for the best. if your maxing out the afm tighten the spring more and move the arm and try again see where it gets ya. if you get larger injectors it would even probably help just by allowing you to tighten it more to make up for more fuel being delivered...92 protege lx-

good to know that it still throws fuel in after it maxes out even though it is a bad idea to max out vaf.
Anybody know anything about the A code vaf? From what I have read on rx7club it is the same as b code with a tighter spring.Last edited by Boosted Escort; 08-01-2011, 10:23 PM.

dgaf if you believe it or not, but at full boost (1.5bar) in 2nd-5th I'm at 10-10.5:1 afr.
first shows the limitations of a VAF-based setup, as the turbo sucks the door open and it breaks up at 5500 or so (I usually see 8.5-9.0:1 afr when this happens)sigpic
