Apex'i REV wiring question (ECU terminal 2L speedometer)

Ok so I'm getting ready to wire in my Apex'i REV unit so I can control VICS with the rpm controller....just a slight issue involving wiring in the required speed signal.

SO Apex'i has given me a wiring diagram for the GTR, 1B = ignition (Main fuel relay), 1G = RPM (igniter), 1B = ground, 2L = speed (speedometer sensor)

when comparing it to the n/a and GTX pin outs, it seems as though they do not have a speedometer sensor pin out, in place it's the TPS sensor...

ANYWAYS. Suggestions what to hook said speed wire too?

    Thanks
    -Jack

without an electronic speedo sensor or a wheel speed sensor with supporting circuitry i really dont think there is much you can hook it to.

well seems as though the previous user didn't use the speed wire for installation, so it may not be needed for the rpm controller...

Another issue though, although they did not use the speed wire, they used the orange wire with the red wire...which I could only imagine as being accessories, right? Wrong lol. I have properly wired in the 3/4 wires listed in the wiring diagram (ignition, igniter, ground) at the proper ECU wires and verified proper voltage and grounds...and the unit does not want to come on still. Checked voltage at the unit and it's still good so no broken wires...

Anyone have any ideas? Or did I buy a bad unit possibly?

edit: cool thanks shawn...any ideas on this issue?

I'm thinking the speed wire needs to be connected to something...looking at the pin out lists the GTRs speedometer signal runs 0-5V...so I'm going to splice the speed wire in with the TPS (5v) and see if the unit will turn on...other than that I'm out of ideas.

There is a VSS in the cluster that sends a signal to the ECU in some cases. Perhaps you can tap into that?

Well I tried connecting the speed wire to any 5v source and the unit still does not want to come on...I think it's junk to be honest.

Suggestions on how to test it another way? Can I wire it to my battery and see if it comes on?

The Apexi unit only requires power and ground to power up. If it doesn't work directly to a battery then the unit is faulty.
