Going to get started switching over to megasquirt

Hello all, I have recently picked up two megasquirt 2 units and want to get my boosted egt running on one of them. I am going to find someone in the next couple of weeks to weld an IAT sensor bung to my intake piping.

As I understand it I can run my stock distributor but should I invest in a miata cas? Any other gotchas?

which car is this for the escort or the GTX?

only other "gotcha" might be your harness, as with any other standalone if your harness does not have shielded wires for the ignition inputs from the dizzy or has corrosion, bad grounds ect your going to want to use a megasquirt harness like this: http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/1...eady-p-43.html

it will require cutting and soldering though, im assuming your prepared to do this anyway unless you bought a DIYPNP or a PNP for the escort

currently this will be for the escort, by the time I do the GTX it won't be B6t anymore.

Soldering and wire work are not a problem, its actually preferred. I'll pick up some shielded wire for the dizzy. Thats the type of feedback Im looking for, thank you.

the only real benefit of the miata CAS then is wasted spark support. the stock BP05 dizzy is ready to rock for MS. so is the B6t but it has a centrifical weight advance mechanism which can cause timing drift

also the EGT harness has sheilded wires for the dizzy already but like i said check the whole thing over and fix any wiring issues to avoid issues later

The stock BP05 dizzy can also be use for waste spark. It is the same trigger as the miata CAS. The only difference will be the shaft for the rotor. I used the same BP05 dizzy for COP when I run Microtech. And now I am running full sequential with the MS3X with the same dizzy. No problems what so ever.

MS2/3 can do full sequential yes, but MS1 cannot, the wasted spark comment was for ms1, but now that i re-read it i see he has an MS2.
