    MS coming soon

I ordered my MS from stratified. I have a 95 Escort GT. In the past when I swapped in the gtx and bp26 ecu I had to switch 2M with 2L I think or vise versa since the BP26 ecu uses a 4 wire TPS.. I was wondering, does the MS use the TPS from the vehicle to make calculations? If so, don't I need to reverse what I did when I swapped those pins before since I ordered a PNP MS2 for a 95 Escort GT with 3 wire TPS?

Also, is there any other wiring required to get started when I plug in the MS?

have you got a 4 wire tps in the car now ? make the change to a variable tps as MS can and should use that signal over the 3 wire tps. you can use either .. but the 4 wire is so much better

I do have a 4 wire TPS and years ago I had to run a wire from an existing wire on the TPS to a wire on the VAF but now since the VAF is being omitted do I need to do anything with that wire? Can it be omitted too?

Also, if the MS is built for an Escort GT with a 3 wire TPS...what will I need to do to get MS to read the 4 wire TPS?

if it hasnt been sent yet ask lex to make the change ( he's awesome ) then simply add the 4 wire tps and dont change your existing wiring with one exception .. add the 1 power wire to the tps .. i can help you with that if you go that route

also when you get the MS .. save the tune he sends with it on a different pc or a usb stick and treasure it ... you will go back to it a couple of times as you figure out tuning MS .. that original tune is GOLD for a 1st time MS tuner

I was initially going to setup your MS for the NA GT model. I can however easily set it up for the AWD GTX. All this does is setup the wiring for the variable TPS and the base map will be setup for GTX injectors. Let me know if you'd like this done as I am finishing the unit this coming week.

You of course should still tune the unit but if you're running a GTX kit with the 4 wire TPS and the GTX injectors it is best to start with the MS configuration and base map.

You can also always redowload the base map from the Stratified site under the Generic MSND76 section:

Stratified Automotive Controls Generic Stratified Megasquirt Plug and Play MSND76 ECU [0100-0006.1 (GENERIC_MSND76)] - This Product Has Been DISCONTINUED, the page is up as a reference for those who need basemaps and wiring information. **Installation and Setup Instructions** **Please Note: It can take up to 1 week for the product to ship from your order date. You can contact us for updates on the order

                  I will be using 430cc RX8 fuel injectors, part number 195500-4450. http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/195500-4450-rx8

I think setting it up for a GTX would be acceptable. I am omitting the VAF and will be using the 4 wire TPS but will have a slightly bigger turbo than a gtx, tbird/vj-20 hybrid, and slightly bigger injectors, 440cc, than the gtx. I just want to be clear about what I have and will be using before the unit is complete. I appreciate your hard work and responses! I will be tuning actively and monitoring the A/R's with the MTX-L as you know so with that I hope I can get the bugs worked out if any soon after I plug it in. I get my turbo back in another week and injectors are already here so we are good on my end. Thanks Lex.

Sounds like you have your bases covered.

The only difference hardware wise on the GTX unit is the TPS wiring internally. If you setup your OEM harness to match the GTX OEM pinout for the TPS this is going to work without any problems.

For the injector sizing, it is simply a multiplier that needs to be changed. The GTX injectors are 330cc IIRC so the Req Fuel multiplier needs to be multiplied by (330/440) which is 0.75.

Are the new injectors also high impedance? If they are then this is the only change you need to make. If they are low impedance you need to change the characteristics. Take a look at the manual and the How-Tos here:

The 195500-4450 are high impedence 440cc RX8 injectors so I should be good, thanks again Lex. Looking forward to tuning soon!
