    Auto TPS on GTX ecu

Hey guys I have an auto tps/TB on my escort 5(speed) When the AFC is all hooked up and plugged into the stock BP ECU the throttle % will read. But when I have it hooked up to the GTX ECU it wont work. Is the pin outs for the TPS different on the gtx ecu. Im also running a gt harness. Thanks

can u explain to me about the auto tps conversion? I'm gonna run a safc on the auto tps and throttle body, but what would i do with the 4th wire from the safc? I was thinking of getting the auto tps, throttle body and cutting off the 4 pin connector from the auto harness, connect the 3 wires from the manual harness for the tps and then i'll have one more wire on the 4 pin connector and just lengthen the wire from the afc straight to the tps wire. Am i right? If not please explain. Peace

match three of the colors up, the 4th goes to the s-afc.

Thats how I have it hooked up but no reading when plugged into the gtx ecu

if you have the 4th wire hooked up to the s-afc why would you expect the ecu to get a reading?

The 4th wire is the signal wire correct? I have that wire ran directly to the AFC The other 3 wires go into the harness like stock. I just dont get why when plugged into the stock BP ecu it works but when plugged into the gtx ecu it wont. Thats why I'm think the pinout onto the gtx ecu may be different..=( this is the only thing hold me back from getting my car to run 100% and its killin me

                    Luke use the map sensor!

Ok bad star wars reference. But anyways dont bother with the auto tps. Get yourself a nice $20 gm 2 bar map and go nutty. Its only 3 wires....+5v , ground and signal.

The output is similar to a tps...closed throttle=high vacuum and low map reading and WOT= no vacuum/boost and high map reading.

Wire that into the afc with it set to a normal 0-5v tps. Then pick the low side to be 50% and for the high just do.....

                    ((boost+14.7)/29.4))*100.

That'll give you the percent the map should be at at full boost. So like 10 psi is ((10+14.7)/29.4))*100=about 84%. This way you're getting a reading of actual engine load and not just thottle position.

Edited to make a little easier to read....

Hmm ok I have a MAP sensor but its hooked up into my crane ignition for boost retard. Can I use this? It has three wires comming off it...Black green and orange. If I tape it into the MAP I still use the hi-th and Lw-TH to set everything up? Im usally good when it comes to wiring but this AFC is all new to me. Thanks

Also I found this...If you look at it it shows a gtx harness and a gt(5speed) harness side by side. The throttle signal on the GTX harness is pinout 7 as opposed to the gt harness which is pinout 19 if I move that wire to the pinout 7 you think it would get a signa. heres the link

Ok im assuming its atleast a 2 bar if its for boost retard....so as long as its 0-5v for the output signal you can use it. Just tap into the signal wire and run that to the afc.

If its greater than a 2 bar sensor than that equation i posted above is different too. The 29.4 goes up by 14.7 for each bar so like 3 bar would be 44.1 and 4 would be 58.8.

Ok i think im starting to follow sorry lol....and to adjust id still use the high and low throttle setting correct ? or would I have to set it up as sensor type preasure. I really appreciate your help cuz god knows i need it

yes you right i had to move pin 19 on the gt harness to #7 on the gtx ecu to make it work that on the 26 pin connector.
my car run perfect like that.
