    My Pseudo BP Turbo Build

    I know a lot of people make these little lists for what they want to do to their car but don't have the patience or resources to really do it, but bear with me on this one. It's more like a check off list.
    • BP-05 Long Block - $100 (Rebuilder)
    • Turbo Manifold (I have a friend who makes these, so I'm set there)
    • Turbo (Stock unit from EVO VIII [17K] $100 from a friend)
    • BOV - Turbo XS RFL or maybe Forge (I like to let people know I'm coming!) $150
    • Chargepipes - Made by turbo manifold friend ($200)
    • Intercooler - SRT-4 (own it)
    • GTX or GTR pistons... I haven't decided $150
    • Rings, Bearing, Gaskets, Machine Work - $400
    • Oil Feed and Return Lines ($100)
    • Larger Injectors (FC3S 550cc) $150
    • FMU - I haven't decided on one yet...
    • Coupler's and Clamp's - $50
    • Spec Stage III Clutch (Held a Turbo PGT so should hold this) $100 used w/10K
    • Fidanza Flywheel $250
    • G-Series Trans & Axles - $500
    • 3" O2 Housing & Back Exhaust ... under axle $300
    • Limited Slip Diff. $900
    • Fuel Pump - I'd like to rip the one that's in my FD out, but then I'd have to replace it come spring...
    • Then I'd need some drag radials and some decent light alloys: $600


    Good god this is going to cost me some $... all for a decent winter car.

    Well, does it at least sound feasible?

    Oh yeah, I'd like to run about 12 psi and not worry about rods flying through the block... or headgaskets springing leaks... or detonation.

    I guess I'm going to need a wideband, boost gauge, and maybe fuel pressure: Add $500

            Your taking the turbo off a evo and a intercooler off a srt-4? dosent the stock evo run at like 19 psi stock and has a 2.5 liter engine? whats the spool on that gonna be

              The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.

                  SRT-4 intercoolers flow very well. An Evo is a 2.0 and it's more like 15 psi stock.

                    So you can't get a MSP used unit for that much? I thought you could.

                      Well its more like a grand or so, and then you have to get axles custom worked to fit.... 92_2_fast knows all about it... PM him, and dig up his threads about it for more info. I think he had to hybrid a MX-3 axle, and a protege, and all this other headache. 900 would be an extremely low estimate IMO.
                      The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.

                        Sounds good man, but why only 12 psi? I am running 15 psi On a N/A BP block and head.

                            158,XXX on the bottom 3,000 on the head. Head was rebuilt but the bottom looked fine so I went with it .
