GTX ECU on a N/A auto tranz harness

i bought a nother EGT with a blown auto tranz. Swaping to a 5 speed.
i will be turboing it. with a .42/.48 t3 my old gtx injectors, gtx ecu and on the n/a
auto tranz harness. is this a direct plug and play for the 4 wire tps.ect, ect or are there changes between the U.S. SPEC N/A auto and manuel harnesses besides the 4 wire tps?

i did a complete gtx swap on my 91 escort gt a few years ago , gtx harness, gtx ecu and motor. so iv done this before, have researched this and kinda know about gtx vs, n/a harnesses. the car now is powered with a t3/t4,megasquirt,ect,ect.

so i figued id find a nother EGT and use some old parts laying around for a nice daily driver not a race car like my other.
    thanks ryan

you can use the auto harness but it has to be repinned, as the pinout at the ecu is completely different. try asking etienne, if i remember correctly he did this

well i know alot of people are running gtx ecu on a manual tranz n/a harness.
all i want to know is, do i just have to repin like manual tranz n/a harness people do,
or is there more to it cause it's a auto harness.

i would think i shouldn't have to do as much repinning cause the auto tranz harness is already a 4 wire tps?!?
it really don't matter to me if i have knock control ether or a 3 wire o2 like the gtx harness does.
        thanks ryan

you dont technically have to repin anything on the 5 speed harness, unless you want to add the 4 wire tps or knock sensor.

for the auto, the pinout is totally different. as in...if you plug the gtx ecu in it will not work at all. you can rewire it to work though, as mentioned

the fact that the 4 wire tps is there already means you can get it working just by repinning, you dont have to repin and add wires like with the manual harness.

            lol... PM received.

rieldeal is correct, auto ecu and manual ecu are completely different pinouts. it's not JUST the TPs that is different.. well, on the engine it is, but on the ecu, it's a whole different unit. I've actually tried an auto ecu on a manual harness, and I can assure you from experience it's a no go. I knew it would be, but I had both ecu's out, and I tried it for ****s and giggles... cranks, but no start at all.

anyhow, yes, the auto harness can be successfully re-pinned to work with a manual or GTX ecu (same thing), I re-pinned an auto harness to use on a local friend's escort LX to GTX swap, cuz I had an auto harness handy, and wanted to make a few bucks, and he had nothing. Bonus to doing that, it solves the 4-wire tps issue people using the manual harness have.

now, that all being said for your own personal knowledge, I have a simpler solution for you. I just parted out my escort GTX, and I have the engine harness I was using on it. it's a 1995 EGT manual harness with wired in 4-wire sensor. This harness has been checked wire by wire prior to installation on my car less than 6 months ago. I checked continuity on every single wire, and stripped the electrical tape covering the harness and visually inspected each wire for tears and breakage. I then re coated the entire harness with a special oil and heat resistant self binding tape for longterm resistance in the canadian winters. this thing's bullet proof, and it's for sale for 50$ + shipping.

            I've even got a pic! :D

wow Etienne - does that harness also have the knock sensor and 3-wire O2 in there?

the manual and auto harness have different plugs to adapt to the ecu so that is where your biggest obstiale lays.

nah... I didn't go as far as adding the knock sensor cuz I didn't care, and it has the 4-wire o2 sensor plug...
