AWD MX having some BP issues, need suggestions

well i had the engine running most of the summer. and i installed a comptec FPR and some 460's. well then someone told me i had my adjustabe gears tuned wrong for the big ass cams i have. well ever since the car wont run worth ****. it idles just fine, and drives like crap no power it just spits and sputters untill you hit 5K and it takes off like a bat out of hell, i tried every thing. it acts like it has a plugged cat but its 3" straight threw.

i went back to TDC and went fron there. the cams should be diled in perfect where they sit. well i started to get some blue smoke, im thinking its from the turbo as there is some slight residue in the IC piping, and the more it spools the more it spits out. and i have no blow by.

i was thinkin it might be a valve, so did a comp check. cyl. 1-175, 2- 165, 3-170, and 4- 170. they arnt that far off from each other, so that kinda rules out a valve.

im thinking maybe a leak in the turbo man, or the VAF out of adjustment. the oil is clean, no metal flakes nothing. any thoughts on this guys. maybe the turbo is screwed. i am just not sure what the heck is going on. any thought would really help.

and a short list of stuff in the motor

    8.4:1 com pistons
1mm over ss valves, evs springs
    spec E cams 286 duration 11.38mm lift
    IHI VF12
    GTR intake mani

You are running the NA ECU still Josh? . Do you have a wideband on it? If the cuts are low in the RPM it is most likely fuel related and not ignition (which is the other case of sputtering)

get a wideband, and keep an eye on your ignition timing, do it conservative. As far as burning oil, if your return line coming from the turbo is too long, you will syphon oil back into your turbo and your car will smoke, so make sure that the return line is as short as possible.

or if it has to be long, be sure that it is a large diameter.

well im running 1" line from the turbo, to where the stock oil return would be on the pan ( i drilled and taped it there). its only like 4 maybe 6" long.

i have a widsban but its not installed, and yes i have been running a N/A ECU, but i didnt have problems untill just now. i think im just going to have to brake down and put the stand alone in. i just have to mod my manifold for a new TB and flange.

I will go ahead and hook the wideban up this week, and see where i am. the harness for this thing is crazy. not really its only like 8 wires but still. lol

what standalone are you running that you have to swap throttle bodies? you should be able to run a TB from an auto BP, it will give you a 0-5v linear signal

i would have to make a custom plate to swap the sensor over. im running a SDS. im also running Mitsu style injectors with the stand alone as well. they are what fit the custom aluminum manifold and fuel rail i have. they wont swap over to the Mazda mani. they are 780cc RCI injectors. should be good for what ever power im going to put out.
